Finished the Beauty Course!

These are air brush animals created by my classmates. I did the Zebra.(Courtney did the Cheetah make-up on Sabrina.Waiting to hear back on the rest.)

I have been trying to update my blog for about 2 weeks. For some reason my computer goes into a coma when I try to upload pictures. Not sure if it's because I have so many darn pictures from class, but I am going to attempt to do a 3 week update since I have been so busy.

I was able to be a part of a music video shoot. I created a hairstyle for the female lead and created a "very tired and disheveled" make-up for four of the men in the cast. It was fun to see the process.

On set of the music video. Thanks Red Light District!

I also wrapped my first paid commercial. It was a PSA on contraceptives that will be aired nationwide. Don't know when or in what markets, but it was an amazing experience. I LOVED it. So nice to see the teamwork involved in such a production. Can only imagine how much fun a feature film will be.

Station set up On set during shoot.

I'm still waiting to shoot the independent film. The Writer/Director is very passionate about the project so I am thrilled to be a part of helping her make her dream come to life.
The 3rd week of school was Era for tv and film and Avante garde.

1920's 1930's 1940's

That was fun to learn. We were able to create make-up that would be used on the runway and for editorial purposes. Crazy styles and looks that you would never wear in public. I have signed up to work LA fashion week in October, so stay tuned for some backstage shenanigans.
The fourth week was airbrushing. I enjoyed this class the most so far. It was only a week, but I would have loved to have a month. My teacher is amazing. I could watch her create all day. I now have an airbrush gun and compressor. So watch out boys, your mama needs to practice!

These are some of my projects. The leaves are my air brush final. The Zombie is airbrush. She is half Zombie and half beauty. The Rock Star and Candy Mouth and Bird Nest are High Fashion/Avante Garde. The two of me were done by Gilbert. He is an amazing sculptor and artist.

The fifth week was in hairstyling. I didn't have to take this class. Thank Goodness! They allowed me to be a TA(teachers assistant). So I was able to help my classmates learn how to create the styles from the 1900's to present. I really enjoy creating styles from the other eras. Not something I get to do everyday, so that's fun.

These are my beauty final Photo Shoot. We had to create a classic make-up and high fashion sketch. We didn't have any idea what our model would look like until the day of the shoot. That's not stressful at all..... I was blessed. My model was beautiful. Easy Breezy!!!

Next week I get to begin character make-up. We get to learn bald caps, chins, noses, and wounds. It will be nice to get into the special effects part of the curriculum.

A few answers to the questions I am getting:

Yes, I miss my boys terribly. I am so thankful for Skype. Seeing them on video has helped make the absence bearable.
Yes, I will be coming home. I love what I'm learning, but my family is in AZ. I am so grateful for Melissa. Having her help me with my business has been a Godsend. She has kept me informed on all the comings and goings at the salon. I miss seeing all my clients/friends. You all had become such a constant part of my life and I do miss you.
Thanks for being so supportive.

I am having a ball!
